Kara is the creator and director of Toronto-based Compassion in Motion. She focuses on homeless and underprivileged communities. She believes that her life’s calling is to love people, and more important, to show people that they are worthy of love. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an honours bachelor of science degree in Neuroscience and Integrative Biology and an honours bachelor of science degree in Nursing from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Kara hopes to pursue a career in nursing. Though she is Christian, she respects and celebrates the way in which other faith groups practice their love for humanity. Above all, she identifies as a humanitarian.

Kara Ramos will be featured as a Book in our Living Library.

I believe that loneliness is the biggest hunger in our world, and that every person has the capacity to alleviate it. And the first step towards that is learning how to care for one another.
