Bhante Saranapala

Reverend. Religious Leader. Buddhist Monk.
Book, Buddhist, Monk, Reverend
Bhante Saranapala is known as the “Urban Buddhist Monk”. He has been acclaimed as an innovative teacher of meditation. He has a growing number of seekers of the Buddhist Way of Life in North America and Europe; due to his simple and all-embracing approach in transmitting the universal message of love, understanding and compassion of Buddha. Bhante has earned an enviable reputation as a preacher and a meditation master par excellence.
Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Bhante received both his monastic and secular education later in Sri Lanka. He then made his way to Canada to further his studies. He soon had the noble task of spreading Mindfulness and Insight Meditation here, in his own tested approach. Settling down in the City of Mississauga, he has been a monk residing at the monastic fraternity of the West End Buddhist Temple and (Monastery) Meditation Centre for the past 21 years.

Bhante Saranapala will be featured as a Book in our Living Library.
